CSMA Meeting Minutes October 7, 2001 General Membership Meeting The meeting was called to order at 10:07 A.M., Paul Gibson N1TUP presiding. The minutes from the June meeting were read and accepted. Paul then gave the treasurers report. At this time CSMA has $346 in the bank. The checks sent to the previous treasurer had been destroyed and any parties not having earlier checks cashed should remit membership dues again without having to void earlier checks. John W1AN submitted a bill for the CSMA website. This is a two-year cost of $60. Bruce Marcus paid dues and made a $10 donation. The treasurer's report was accepted. Mark Casey, K1MAP, the Frequency Coordinator, gave a report as to the status of his duties. He requests that someone with some technical skills come forward to help with the Frequency Coordination. The other requirements include having computer and email capabilities. Anyone interested please contact Mark at his email address. The biggest issue facing coordination today is interference from repeaters in the old TSARC domain of the NY Metro area. CSMA can provide documentation of coordination for Connecticut repeaters. He suggests that any problems be documented as to date, time etc., to substantiate the interference claim. John W1JMA inquired about the coordination of the KE1AI and the W1WJB repeat- ers in Western Connecticut. Mark will finalize both. John W1AN discussed if the NFCC 50% requirement had been met by CSMA? It has. Mark has the needed documentation. The next issue discussed was the election of the two directors whose term ended today. This will be a two-year term. Bruce Marcus and John Spigel were nominated and elected for these posts. The CSMA would like to thank Mike Martell for his contribution to CSMA as Director over the past year. John W1JMA discussed the status of the incorporation and the filing for tax exemption. Officers and Directors are to email to John at w1jma at AOL.Com the needed information discussed. John will try to complete the applications as soon as possible. John has been appointed contact person regarding these matters. John W1JMA also discussed the status of the CARA Beacon on 147.300. This might be a potential frequency for CARA so it can move from 146.67. To date no comments or complaints have been filed with CARA officials or the CSMA. The next meeting is Sunday December 2, 2001 at the Southington Town Hall. The meeting will begin at 10AM. No other business discussed and the meeting was adjourned at 10:50. Respectfully Submitted, John M. Ahle W1JMA Vice President and Acting Secretary
