CSMA Meeting Minutes General Membership Sunday June 2, 2002 Paul Gibson, N1TUP, called the meeting to order at 10:18 am. Tom Frenaye, ARRL Division Director was in attendance. The meeting was held at the Newington Hamfest. The meeting minutes of the April meeting were read and accepted. Paul stated that the treasury had $286 at this time. Mark Casey, K1MAP presented the ARRL Check for $175. This is the fee paid by the ARRL for the CSMA database for the latest repeater directory. The Treasurer's report was accepted. Old Business: John M. Ahle W1JMA discussed the status of the IRS 501c3 application. Questions were received and will need response to them by 6/18. John will see if an extension is allowed. The Articles of Incorporation were amended to reflect needed language requested by the IRS. These language changes were accepted. There has been no follow up to the Policy and Procedure committee since our last meeting. There are no updates on coordination at this time. Mark has been experiencing computer problems. Bruce Marcus offered to store the database files on his company's computer for safe keeping. Mark will get a copy of the files to him. New Business: Paul N1TUP discussed the help he gave the ARRL in tracking down a rogue repeater with a 2.5 meg split. Paul did this as an individual and not part of CSMA. It was stated that CSMA is not an enforcement agency. John W1AN raised the issue regarding Internet connections using repeaters. A lengthy discussion was had regarding CSMA's involvement in this new mode. It was decided that CSMA should be involved in developing technologies that use VHF/UHF spectrum. Ken, KD1DD, stated that the ARRL website does not link to CSMA. Paul will call the league. Mark passed a copy of the New Milford Coordination papers to W1JMA to deliver to KE1AI.
