CSMA Meeting Minutes April 30, 2006 Manchester Connecticut The meeting was called to order by Paul Gibson, N1TUP at 10:05 am. The minutes from the December meeting were accepted. The treasury reports a balance of $1064.28. The report was accepted. New memberships were received at this meeting and CSMA received an anonymous donation of $1000. This gift was properly acknowledged to the donor. In addition, CSMA received the ARRL fee for supplying the call book database. The amount received was $179. Paul reported that since our last meeting, 82 cross coordination's were received by CSMA and most processed at this date. Metrocor and UNYREPCO were the bulk of the cross coordination. Discussion was had about the late K1DR 440 repeater. An unavoidable mix up occurred and the 440 pair were cross coordinated to Metrocor. CSMA tried to the best of its ability to determine if the machine still existed since K1DR passed away over 2 years ago. CSMA and the area coordinators are working on expediting a new 440 pair for the K1DR memorial 440 repeater group in the Stamford area. Paul reported on the status of NFCC and our application to be part of this national coordinating group. Members of the GNARC repeater group were in attendance. A lengthy discussion was ad on the topic of the 147.39 repeater and its ability to be cross coordinated with area bodies. An offer was made by John W1JMA to host a meeting in Bridgeport with all parties who co-channel that frequency. The hope is to work out a mutual agreement between the parties that would allow cross coordination at the Norwalk Hospital site. The following items were moved, seconded and passed: 440, 902 and 1240 MHZ mile parameters for co-channel coordination be set at 70 miles. The same frequencies listed above would have adjacent channel guidelines at 25 khz spacing be set at 20 miles. 2m co-channel mileage will be set at 80 miles with adjacent mileage set at 30 for repeaters within the 144-145 mhz segment and 35 miles for repeaters within the 146-148 mhz segment. It was also voted that no temporary coordination will be made until all cross coordinations are complete. Currently CSMA has 6 cross coordination in process. Telpac is allowed on 145.53 and 145.31. It was noted that WK1M is trying to swap a pair of 1 meg split 2m pairs with another repeater to eliminate some interference from Metrocor territory. The next meeting will be announced when needed. This meeting was closed at 1pm. Respectfully Submitted, John M. Ahle W1JMA
